I must admit, I am guilty for being a pizza addict. I have tried various slices of dough topped with pomodoro and cheeses plus bits and pieces of anything edible from economical to overpriced. I tasted the worst and the best of pizza, as to my own tongue’s judgment.

Passing along Kamias Road, a colorful flier landed my windshield with images of pizza and pasta on it. If it wasn’t for those pictures, I would not bother to get it and read a single word. Riveting. My tummy’s grumbling and it is time to eat something.

Hot Spot

So, I headed to the direction stated on the flier. A bit surprised to realize there’s a dining place at this side of the road. Cozy. Vibrant. Interesting. Resting on the ground floor of CHAMP School and CHAMP International Hostel, CHAMP Pizza Pasta is a school-operated restaurant that serves Italian fare with a hint of Filipino flavor. I ordered the Sicilian pizza and I realized that they are serving homemade pizza dough. Meaning, I have to wait 12 minutes before satisfying my hankering.  I never complained since there is a WiFi access and a 24’ widescreen Plasma TV inside. I got too occupied checking my emails and surfing websites that I stopped thinking about the pizza I have ordered. This is an ideal place for busy people who are always on the go to catch up on their workload while chomping their meal. At this era where all people seem to be chasing time, a hot spot indeed has the edge amongst other dining area. And mind you, unlike other shops charging a certain amount for an hour use of their WiFi facility, this new dining place offers free access aside from bringing out good quality food and service.

Delectable Pizza

Bell peppers, pepperoni, Italian sausages and onions were mouth-wateringly covered with melted mozzarella. The taste was unexpectedly delightful. Maybe I underestimated the quality of their service granted that they are in the infancy stage and the place is not that dazzling enough…and they proved me wrong. Items on their menu were made by Chef Billy Cabal, European and Western cuisine connoisseur from the Center of Culinary Arts – Manila. And if they are not too busy inside the kitchen, the chefs personally serve your order with much warmth and gusto.  Not only pizza but also pasta and rice bowls are included in their menu. My favorite pasta here is the Seafood Alfredo. How I loved its creamy white sauce with shrimp, clams, squid and mussels. Rice bowls are served in a generous amount and it’s like having your rice topped with delicious ingredients found on your pizza minus the cheese. Adobo flavor, both on pizza and rice bowl excites your taste buds to the classic Filipino cuisine. Another pizza house I must pop in when I go near the vicinity.
